I love shooting brides in doorways. The natural light streams in, creating a beautiful silhouette. This photo is of Kelly, who just tied the knot on March 15th. Congrats Kelly and Dustin!I love shooting doorways, because it reminds me of our old friend Janus from Roman mythology. Janus was the god of gates and doorways, beginnings and endings. Every bride is in a doorway. Marriage is the beginning of a lifelong bond with her husband, and the ending of the chapter in her life as a single woman. I am always drawn to characters in books and movies who are experiencing transition in their lives. Perhaps that is why I love working with brides. May every bride step through all the doorways of her life with grace and celebration!
